December Butterfly Challenge!

WOOHOO!

I got a butterfly challenge done!

I love love love the December Swirlydoos kit! :D

I added a flower from a previous kit as well as a couple strips of Bazzill Basics glitter tape. and some old Prima bling that I dyed with gold alcohol ink. The title is a mix bag of tiny alphas...

Super pretty Petaloo flowers!

And Prima! I sprayed the big flower with some Lindy's Starburst if Frozen Jack Frost.

Bling, tiny words...all my faves...

I used Distress ink in Fired Brick then a swipe of Distress embossing ink with some clear Ranger powder to give the butterflies a kick.

Thanks for stopping by! Please leave a comment, let me know how I am doing! :D

Believe

This morning we all got up to hit the big town for errands and breakfast.

While waiting in the van, I took a few shots of Kassidy thinking and grinning about Christmas!

Luckily, I just received the December Swirlydoos kit, Believe. Nice, huh? So, I used the included sketch and went to town!

I used 3 layers of mist: Lindy's Moon Shadow in Bucket O Blood Red, then Lindy's Starburst Don't Eat Golden Snow and then Mister Hueys Opaque White.

Then it was just layering what I wanted!

The Prima pins are so pretty! Love them!

Butterfly Challenge!

I was a BIT late, not sure if it counts yet! *cross fingers*

I was finally able to scrap a little, it has been so crazy here!

This is Kassidy, done with the November Swirlydoos kit, Nouveau.

PLEASE click on the pictures for larger images!

The edge is "distress punched" with  MS edge punch. (I forgot the punch name, it is a scalloped one with dots.)

I love those Prima wooden doors! I used a lot of Prima packaging as well, for the paper banner and the butterflies. The canvas banner is Prima as well.

The flowers are Kaisercraft and Petaloo with a few little HL brand ones. I painted the canvas banner with Luminarte silks in Pixie Pink, then I brushed on a little Magical Mica paint but I can't remember which brown! (In my defense, I have a lot of browns....and I had like 4 out on my table.)

Lots of mist of course! I used Perfect Pearls in Pearl and also Lindy's Starbust in Cocoa Bean Cooper.

This bricks are Dusty Attic. :) They are awesome!

I used gesso, Mr Hueys mist in Warm Calico, then after it was dry, I brushed some Lindy's mica powder in Glistening Blue and then I dabbed a bit of Distress Stain in Antiqued Bronze over that! I smeared some white Faber-Castell Gelato on the paper to give a softer look under the bricks.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Please leave a comment, they are always appreciated!

Music Note Paper Cone Wreath

Hi all!

I wanted to do something different and get a jump on my holiday decor. I was browsing the always-dangerous for time suck Pinterest and I came a cross a great tutorial here:

I thought, hmmmmm, I have all the stuff to make that here! And it is really cold today, so, what the heck!

I also used 5"x7" sheets. I cut some sheets from an old clarinet book, I have had it for awhile and I am slowly working my way through the pages.

I added a 3rd inner row at the behest of my husband who thought it would look better. It does, I think, look fuller and a little better this way.

I inked my edges with Prima Ingvild Bolme chalk ink in Dark Bark and I sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Antique Brass over the whole thing. :)

Swirlydoos Round Robin

After I finished this, I realized...NO TITLE! Egads! AND after I took a set of pics, it fell to the floor, busted up and I had to redo some of it. Ugh. At least it turned out okay!

As I try to keep my blog going, I would appreciate any comments and please follow me!

I used a few of the Prima Trinkets clock hands to add movement and a harder design element.

A few Kaisercraft rubons are all the words it needed!

Some Tim Holtz idea-ology brand mini bulbs (in love with these!) ans a few hex bolts I swiped from hubby's toolbox. The yellow flower is really a white one sprayed with Mr. Huey's mist in Custard.

I used a little Prima chalk ink in teal on this Prima resin frame. Both are the Invild Bolme line! LOVE her designs from them.

Another Prima-Invild item, the zipper pull. I used a TH Distress marker to color the word on the zipper.

I hope that you enjoy the closeups!

I wanted to mention that I am the featured member this month at Swirlydoos. Squirrel

This is a layout I did at a recent crop at my LSS. I had such a fun time and got a whopping 5 layouts done! WOOT!

Our cat, squirrel, so named because as a kitten, he dragged a squirrel into the house and hid it in a closet for later. EW. Just a couple weeks ago he brought a bird in the house. YES, a bird! He is a true hunter.

Even though he brings in wild animals to "play" with and then devour, he also is quite the snuggler and loves to cozy up to us at night.

Swirlydoos Layout of the Week

Weeks ago...Oct 14 to be exact, I was chosen for the Layout of the Week at Swirlydoos!

I will link to their blog, so check it out!

Thanks!

I loved getting totally messy and using gesso and a Tattered Angels (I think) mask with all that canvas!

A Bit of Dust

So, there is a bit of dust on this ol' blog here, time to spruce it up!

I want to share this layout I did of my daughter, Kassidy, for the October Round Robin challenge at Swirlydoos.

Here is a close up of a little torn detail, I used Invild Bolme Prima chalk ink in
Black Coal to accent the tear and the zipper (also a Prima trinket).

I used the Crafter's Workshop 6x6 brick wall mask both under the Coordinations card stock and over the
patterned paper. To make the background, I just used some fine grain sandpaper and lightly sanded the card stock over the mask; it is a great way to quickly add dimension to the Coordinations and use your masks in a different way!

I used Dusty Attic letters, Creative Imaginations letters. I used Petaloo Color Me Crazy flowers and dyed them with a mix of Party Pink Glimmer Mist and Magical Micas from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I PROMISE more updates, techniques and maybe a few videos in the near future!

New Projects!

I will probably break this down in a few posts as I have not yet used this new blogger interface. :)

Okay, this is my entry for APRIL Swirlyhues challenge.

Some of the gorgeous apple blossoms in our yard this spring. They don't last too long!

I used Grunge Board for the butterfly, then I covered it with gesso, Distress crackle in Rock Candy and different Distress Stains.

The title DA has layer after layer of Smooch Spritz!

Thanks for looking!
