Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Challenge Week 2!

Bright Golden Sun!

More appreciated in January than August I dare say.

Blogger put the layout last, SO...a ton of close ups first! If you click on the pics, they are a bit bigger. :)

Layers:

The "white" layer actually has TWO Lindy's Winter Wonderland mists on Tattered Angels Brushed Cotton card stock.

The Prima pieces add a touch of architecture to the layout.

Wild Honey Distress ink and a Tattered Angels mask behind the photos helps give it depth and color.

The circles are embossed with a Kaisercraft butterfly stamp ( I use Distress embossing ink) and Lindy's embossing powder in Desert Moon Copper Teal, then just rubbed a bit of Weathered Wood Distress in and a HUGE splat (by accident, but hey, what can you do?) of Lindy's Moon Shadow mist in Buccaneer Bay Blue.

Prima sunflower sprays with a few extra leaves.

Ranger tag that I had already made and it matched perfectly, I just ran it through a Tim Holtz embossing folder.

On the orange layer, I used a Crafter's Workshop called Rustic Paint with Mister Huey's mist in Custard.

Another circle, same as the first, but not.....

Another stamp (cannot remember who) with the Lindy's powder.

A bit of Prima resin and Kaisercraft bling.

Did I mention I cut the white die with my Cameo? Well, I did. :)

So that's it!! Thanks for looking!

Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Challenge

Adore

About the hexagons: they are Dusty Attic.

I prepped them with gesso, then a liberal layer of Distress Crackle Picket Fence. Then I used Lettuce and Pool Ranger alcohol ink. I accented with Distress Stain in Brushed Pewter. I added a couple of the little butterfly rubons from this month's Swirlydoos kit. I used the little splatter Prima stamp with Distress ink in Seedless Preserves. I added some Prima and Paper Studio flowers and some older flowers from a previous kit. I cut the leaves with the Cameo. (They are a negative image from a butterfly cut.)

I also did a little masking and embossing on the paper.

I embossed the title DA piece with Lindy's powder.

I used Lindy's Starburst mist in Tiffany's Blue, embossed with Lindy's embossing powder in Cosmic Blue Violet, swiped some Distress Stain in Shabby Shutters, then dripped some Dylusions Crushed Grape in the middle. The butterflies were cut with my Cameo out of Tattered Angels Brushed Cotton card stock.

I love the way both of these turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweetie Pie

This is for Heidi's challenge "Under the Mask and Gettin' Messy" over at Swirlydoos.

On the little Studio Calio wooden butterflies, I first put down some Picket Fence Distress Stain, then I used my Distress embossing ink and clear UTEE and melted it with my heat gun. Then I used Shimmerz Blingz in Hottie Pink on top and a Prima stamped image to finish.

I painted the canvas banners with Magical Micas and Glimmer Mist.

I cut the glittered butterflies with my new Silhouette Cameo! (also the flourishes and the "sweetie")
I used the new Brushed Cotton card stock from Tattered Angels and I really like it, it is very soft and the mist settles on it really differently than other papers. I have a few different textures to experiment with!

I painted the edges with Silk acrylic glaze and then very quickly sprinkled glitter on the edges. Then I sprayed with Opaque White Mister Huey's. Since the glaze resits the mist, you still get the great color of the pink!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!! I hope you enjoyed the close-ups! Please leave me a comment, they are always appreciated!
